Spending on vehicle maintenance and repairs continues to grow in Kazakhstan. From January to June 2026, the volume of services in this segment reached KZT 179.6 billion, up 25% compared with the same period last year. The data was reported by Qumash.kz, citing Energyprom.kz.
The market growth is driven not only by an increase in the number of visits to auto service centres, but also by higher service costs. In June, prices for vehicle maintenance and repair were 13.5% higher than a year earlier. The sharpest increase was recorded in Pavlodar Region, where prices rose by 76.5%. Prices increased by 21.5% in Ulytau Region, 20% in Mangystau Region and 18.6% in Zhetisu Region.
Over the past five years, the market has expanded significantly. Compared with the first half of 2020, the volume of vehicle repair and maintenance services increased 4.3 times.
Almaty and Astana Lead the Market
The largest share of spending on vehicle maintenance is concentrated in Kazakhstan’s major cities and regions. According to data cited by Qumash.kz, in 2025, spending on these services reached KZT 139.3 billion in Almaty, KZT 73.1 billion in Astana, and KZT 34.9 billion in Atyrau Region. Together, these three areas accounted for almost 57% of the total market.
There are currently around 8,900 service stations operating in Kazakhstan. A significant share of auto service businesses is concentrated in Almaty, Astana and Karaganda Region.
What Is Driving Demand for Auto Services?
One of the factors supporting demand is the growing number of road accidents registered through the European Accident Statement procedure. In 2025, 26,300 accidents were registered in Kazakhstan using this mechanism, almost 78% more than a year earlier.
Many of these incidents involve relatively minor damage requiring body repairs, painting or replacement of individual parts. This is contributing to higher demand for auto service centres.
The growth in vehicle maintenance spending reflects the expansion of Kazakhstan’s automotive aftermarket and is increasing demand for modern spare parts, diagnostic equipment, service technologies and solutions for repair shops.

The growing automotive aftermarket and service sector will be represented at Automechanika Astana 2027, an international exhibition dedicated to automotive components, workshop equipment and technologies for the automotive aftermarket.
The exhibition will take place on April 14–16, 2027, at EXPO International Exhibition Centre in Astana.
Manufacturers and suppliers of automotive components, workshop equipment, diagnostic solutions, lubricants, technical fluids and other aftermarket products will take part in the event.
