Kazakhstan is taking another important step in developing its automotive industry. The Government has instructed the preparation of a comprehensive plan to establish domestic production of automotive components, aiming to increase localization and expand the manufacturing of high-value-added products.
Following the directive of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, special attention will be given to the production of components for the automotive sector. Priority areas include the manufacture of special steel grades for passenger vehicles, as well as products made from copper, aluminum and chromium, including cables, plastic, rubber and other components required by vehicle manufacturers. The Ministry of Industry has been tasked with preparing the development plan together with industry representatives within one month.
At the same time, Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its electric mobility ecosystem by expanding charging infrastructure, developing battery material production projects, and holding negotiations with international technology companies.
