Kazakhstan’s Automotive Industry: Every Second Car Is Locally Made — What Does This Mean for the Auto Parts Market?

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, from January to April 2025, Kazakhstan produced 47,041 units of wheeled vehicles worth 638.7 billion tenge. Two out of three vehicles sold in the country are assembled locally. This is more than a sign of industry stability — it’s a clear signal to the entire auto parts and related industries supply chain.

According to QAO (Kazakhstan Automobile Business Association), production has remained stable compared to last year, despite a slight decline in volume (-1.1%). Key manufacturing sites remain in Kostanay, Almaty, Semey, and the Karaganda region. With the launch of new production facilities in Almaty and Kostanay, output is expected to grow alongside an expanded model lineup and further component localization.

As noted by QAO President Anar Makasheva, one of the most important trends is the growing share of locally produced automotive components. This opens broad opportunities for spare parts manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and service solution providers.

The upcoming anniversary edition of the exhibition promises a record number of participants and a dynamic business program. It is a key platform where manufacturers, suppliers, car assembly plants, and service stations can meet to build new connections, discuss trends, and establish partnerships aligned with market demand.

The steady growth of Kazakhstan’s automotive industry and the deepening of localization processes make 2026 the ideal moment to strengthen market positions and expand the production and distribution chain across the region.
