According to the director of strategic planning of KazAvtoProm Artur Miskaryan, the removal of epidemiological restrictions provided dealers with the highest level of sales since the beginning of the year.
“According to the results of May, 7 126 cars were sold in the auto centers of the republic against 950 units sold during April. This figure also exceeded the value of May 2019 by 20.7%. At the same time, the expenses of Kazakhstanis for the purchase of automobiles decreased by 0.9% year-on-year and amounted to 230.8 billion tenge. This is due to the increase in the share of the most popular models of the budget segment,” Miskaryan said.
According to statistics for January-March 2020, 25,494 cars were sold by official dealers, which is 2.8% higher than a year ago. During the period, Kazakhstanis spent on the purchase of new cars KZT 230.8 billion ($ 577.8 million), which is 0.9% lower than in 2019.
Sales in May (7,126 units) were higher than last year's value by 20.7% (5902 units). According to the results of the month, the market volume in terms of value reached 61.5 billion tenge ($ 147.1 million), which exceeds the indicator of a year ago by 12%.
