The most popular brand in the local market was the Japanese Toyota, Kazakhstanis purchased 15,010 such cars in last year, which is 18% more than in 2018. Just a little behind the leader of the Korean brand Hyundai, whose sales increased by 76% to 14,980 units. The Russian LADA closes the top three with the result of 14,670 cars (+17%).
KIA (4,010 units, +34%) and Uzbek Ravon (3,530 units), which recently returned to the market, also entered THE TOP 5 most purchased brands. Among the models, the leadership belongs to the Toyota Camry business sedan, whose sales volume reached 7,010 units. The second line is occupied by the HyundaiTucson crossover (4,500 units), followed by three LADA models – Granta (4,280 units), Vesta (3,690 units) and 4x4 SUV (3,650 units).
Experts also note that in December 2019, the volume of the new passenger car market in Kazakhstan increased by 46% compared to December 2018 and reached 7.9 thousand copies.
