The head of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the production of Volkswagen cars

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a resolution which officially launched the project on the organization of production of Volkswagen light commercial vehicles in the country.
The implementation of the project will be made in two stages:

  • at the first stage, it is planned to assemble and supply Volkswagen and Skoda cars to conduct high-quality marketing research and market analysis;
  • at the second stage, according to the results of market research and analysis of the first stage, starting in 2022, the development of the full production cycle of modern models of passenger commercial vehicles.

In March of this year, Uzavtosanoat JSC and Volkswagen Group Rus Concern signed an Agreement on cooperation in organizing the production of light commercial vehicles on the basis of the Jizzakh Automobile Plant LLC. Currently, the Jizzakh Auto plant is at the final stage of construction.

“Given the fact that the segment of light commercial vehicles in the country has not yet been developed, we believe that modern models of the VOLKSWAGEN concern will assist in the development of this important segment for a fast-growing economy, and Uzbek customers will appreciate the high quality standards of our cars,” noted the financial Director of Volkswagen Group Rus, Mr. Patrick Mayer.

For these purposes, large-scale training programs were planned not only for the production unit, but also for dealerships, a financial unit, and after-sales service of Jizzakh Auto. “We hope that very soon we, together with our partner Uzavto, will be able to make our project a success story that we can be proud of,” Mr. Mayer concluded his speech.

It should be emphasized that already in July Volkswagen Caddy cars will be available for sale at the official Volkswagen motor show, Sergeli AutoTechhizmat, located at Tashkent city, Sergeli district, Obikhaet St., 39.
