Automechanika Astana and Futuroad Expo Astana became the first events of the new exhibition season in Kazakhstan and Central Asia

The International exhibitions of automotive industry Automechanika Astana and Futuroad Expo Astana 2021 ran in Nur-Sultan on June 24-26 opening a new exhibition season in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The events combined the exposition, business program, new models of passenger cars of Kazakhstani production, test drives from leading car dealerships and show of exclusive tuned cars. About 5000 professionals and car enthusiasts had visited the events that is a peak number compared to the previous editions of the exhibitions.

Alexey Matveev – CEO of the organizing company “Business Media Central Asia” – notes: “Тhe number of visitors is higher than in previous years before the epidemiological restrictions. This allows us to think that the Central Asian market is recovering, and together with such innovative exhibition complex, we will be able to bring even more new projects and jointly develop Nur-Sultan as a venue for the largest forums and exhibitions".

Exposition


50 companies from Kazakhstan, UAE, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan presents their productions at the shows. As part of the Automechanika Astana exposition, specialists working in the field of automotive service could find all kinds of solutions for the development of their business among products and services from key market players such as Alkor, Diehard Starco Clutches, KARCHER, PEKAR, AIKOS and many others.

The best examples of commercial, bus and road construction equipment were presented at the stands of Futuroad Expo Astana participants, including such well-known manufacturers and distributors as Akia Avesto Automative Industry, Astana Motors, Hyundai Com Trans Kazakhstan, SaryarkaAvtoProm and QazTehna.

It is notable that this year the exhibitions were located not only inside the pavilion: a number of additional activities, as well as a part of the exposition, were organized in the open-air area of the IEC “EXPO”. Here, AllurAuto dealer centers presented the premiere models of Kia (Rio, Rio X, Cerato, Soul), Chevrolet (Malibu, Trailblazer, Tahoe) and JAC (EV7s electric car and S3). The open-air exposition was also supplemented by KARCHER and the participants of Futuroad Expo Astana – Virazh and Eurasia ST that demonstrated the best examples of commercial equipment.

The exhibitions this year became a unique business platform uniting the whole range of solutions covering numerous sectors of the automotive industry and presenting more than 100 units of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trucks and road construction equipment.

Fringe programme


In addition to the exposition, specialists and business owners were able to attend a number of professional events, participate in practical seminars and workshops by more than 30 industry experts, discuss actual issues and share experience with colleagues after a long break.

More than 20 business events ran within a Conference. Experts discussed the key tasks of the road transport industry in Kazakhstan – the development of urban bus transportation and the problems of passenger transportation safety, the introduction of a unified system for automating the issuance of bus tickets and the digitalization of the industry.

Speakers of the fringe programme

On June 24, the business program opened with a session of the National Company "Kazakh Tourism". Within its framework, the experts covered such topics as the increase of the comfort and safety of tourists’ transportation and intermodal transportation. Then the speakers also talked about the market of commercial vehicles and automotive parts and touched upon the topic of the future of electric transport in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The next day of the conference, June 25, continued the subject of the previous day, covering the issues of passenger transportation and highlighting new aspects dedicated to digital technologies, automated systems and legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the road transport field.

A series of events for car enthusiasts


Considering the preferences of the customers, the exposition and program were extended with brand new sections and activities, and thus brought together everyone interested in automotive industry. During all days of the exhibition, the test drive area was especially popular among the visitors. Here, they could choose among nine cars from famous brands provided by the chain of dealerships AllurAuto: KIA (К5, Sorento, Sportage), Chevrolet (New Tracker, Malibu, Traverse, Equinox) and JAC (J7, S7). In three days of show, visitors completed more than 200 test drives, assessing all features of presented autos.

One of the most interesting innovations of this year was the expansion of the exposition with the zone of tuned cars, organized with the biggest car communities in Kazakhstan CarsKz and LowKz. Numerous examples of Stance and JDM styles, retro cars, German classics, including BMW E46 and E38, Lexus GS Stance, Hummer H1, Mercedes Benz W126 and dozens of other examples were presented here.

Moreover, the visitors left the event not only with vivid emotions but also with useful gifts from the exhibitors. The lucky ones who won a giveaway received compact washing equipment by the German brand KARCHER, high-quality car seat covers by Lord Autofashion, as well as gift certificates for the premium tires, spare parts and lubricants from AIKOS.

Healthcare measures

Considering epidemiological situation, healthcare measures to ensure the safety onsite are still extremely important. Therefore, the events were held according to all necessary healthcare measures. These included social distancing, personal protective equipment, disinfection and use of the “ASHYQ” app to analyze and control the epidemiological data that helps to minimize the risks of the COVID-19 spread. Moreover, every visitor and exhibitor could undergo a free express test for COVID-19 right onsite that helped to make the exhibitions even safer.
